- Textbooks for all subjects, 7-12: adoption and distribution
Instructional Materials
- Approval and purchase of additional instructional materials for classroom use
In-Service
- Schedule of sessions
- Maintenance of credits for all teachers
Continuing Education Units
- Approval of units earned at the local level
Professional Development
- Arrangements for teacher attendance at professional meetings held during school hours
Curriculum
- For all subjects,7-12, in regular education
Clinical Evaluation of Teachers
- Periodic classroom evaluations/conferences designed to help teachers improve instructional practices
School Calendar
- Committees of teachers, supervisiors, principals, and Board members annually develop a school calendar which they submit to the full Board of Education for approval.
Partners In Education
- System contact for Cornersville High School, Marshall County High School, Lewisburg Middle School, Forrest High School and Spot Lowe Voc. School.
Scholarships and Awards
- Selection of Marshall County Teacher of the Year (Department of Education) and Sam Walton Community Leadership Award.
- Winners of Kantus Scholarship(s), as well as scholarships established to memorialize individuals
Grants
- Write grant proposals; review and edit proposals for other teachers
Board Policy
- For policies regarding Instruction (Section I) and Student Management (Section J): as additions, deletions, or changes become necessary, submit to Board for approval
