E-mail setup for Netscape

 

Netscape 4.0 - 4.6
Open Netscape Messenger
From "Edit" menu select "Preferences"
Click the "+" next to "Mail & Groups" and select "Identity"
In the "Your Name" text box, type your name (for example:
John Smith)
In the "Your Email" text box, type your e-mail address (for example: jsmith@k12tn.net)
Under "Mail & Groups," select "Mail Server"
In the Mail server username text box, type your User name (for example:
John Smith)
In the Outgoing mail [SMTP] server text box, type
ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us
In the Incoming Mail Server text box, type ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us
Select POP3 (messages and folders are kept locally, on the hard disk)
Click OK to exit

Netscape 4.7 - 4.8
Open Netscape Messenger
From "Edit" menu select "Preferences"
Click the "+" next to "Mail & Groups" and select "Identity"
In the "Your Name" text box, type your name (for example:
John Smith)
In the "Your Email" text box, type your e-mail address. (For example:
jsmith@k12tn.net)
Under "Mail & Groups," select "Mail Server"
Under Incoming Mail Servers, click once on "Mail" to highlight it
Click on the "Edit" button
In the Server Name text box, type in:
ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us
In the Server Type text box, select POP3 Server
In the User Name text box, type in your user name (ie:
jsmith)
Select the POP tab
Ensure that Leave messages on server is NOT checked
Click "OK"
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server text box, type in
ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us
In the Outgoing mail server user name text box, type in your user name (ie: jsmith)
Under Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or TLS for outgoing messages, select "Never"
Click "OK" to exit
